Using the Schoenstatt pedagogy in a business firm

COSTA RICA, Josef Sauter. The Costa Rican Schoenstatt Family, through a businessmen’s chapter, are carrying out a cycle of open conferences in preparation of the Third Iberoamerican Congress of Schoenstatt Businessmen and Executives (CIEES) to be celebrated November 14 -17, 2013.

Thursday, the 28th of February 2013, this cycle of talks to prepare the Movement’s businessmen and executives, began.

These conferences are offered at the Headquarters located in the residential district of Escazú, Costa Rica.

Topics discussed were the importance of “the company living in an organic way”, knowing some principles of the Social Doctrine of the Church, the importance of being conscious of the presence of God and the Blessed Mother at work, and the testimony of how the Pilgrim Mother has transformed hearts among the collaborators of the companies.

To create the Covenant Culture in the business world

This effort to apply the educational pedagogy of Father Kentenich to the business world originated with two other past congresses celebrated in Chile and Ecuador, where they reached the conclusion that the first step to bring the Covenant Culture to the business world is to clarify what is the Kentenich seal that should characterize a Schoenstatt businessman and their company. Therefore the chosen theme for the third congress in Costa Rica is centered on the same line: “Kentenich’s ideas and seal in a business.”

For this third congress to be held in San Jose, Costa Rica, the concrete objectives defined are:

  • To continue in the discerning process of the ideas of a Schoenstatt businessman and executive through the topics of Authority, Solidarity, Culture of Alliance, Leadership and their practical applications.

  • To awaken the participants to be conscious that these congresses are part of a journey and are intertwined with the call of Father Kentenich from the Shrine to be apostles driven by grace, committed to fight in the crusade of thinking, loving and living organically so as to be the heart of the Church. (Mission of the 31st of May)

To awaken the consciousness of the Schoenstatt Movement in Iberoamerica of the importance of applying the Schoenstatt principles in business so as to generate a current of life in the same.
