PERU, Adriana Cáceres. The “Leonor Tarifa Center of Peru (CLETARP) and the Cesar Vallejo University of Trujillo organized the “Workshop about children with different abilities” held on February 18th.

We do it for the children

There were two presentations:

  • Adrian Cáceres Jara presented “The harmonic program to develop abilities and skills of children with different abilities” based on the mediated learning experience of Feurertein and the pedagogical contributions of Father Joseph Kentenich.

  • Yrma Ushiñahua Guabloche presented “The inclusive education in the educational centers.” Parents, regular education and special education teachers participated.

So that a little one will feel happy

The objective was to inform many parents who do not know about the new programs and procedures that help to develop the potential of these children with special educational needs and to blend their physical and spiritual development following Father Joseph Kentenich’s pedagogy, in four of its fundamental points: confidence, attachment, freedom and the ideal. The Leonor Tarifa Center of Peru is developing the program “Armonico” (Harmony) and it is organizing events to help families who have children with developmental and learning deficiencies.

The workshop was well attended and it awakened the interest of its participants. After the presentation modules with colored silhouettes were distributed to the participants so that they could take them to their children and orient them in the creativity of compositions on pages A4. “We have to have a practical result of the workshop: to make a little one feel happy,” the presenters affirmed.

The reason for this project

In Peru, ten percent of the population has different abilities, that is, there are three million Peruvians, and only twenty-eight thousand children have access. The purpose of CLETARU is to help these children to develop their skills and abilities and to carry them out with dignity and respect.
