PARAGUAY, Marité and Ramón Marini. On the 28th of December, The Feast of the Holy Family, Holy Mary of the Most Holy Trinity Church was blessed in Tupãrenda, Paraguay.
To understand what happened at the end of the Mass, we have to comment that Father Joaquín Alliende Luco – special guest for the blessing of the church – and Francisco García Huidobro returned from Encarnación, from the episcopal ordination of Bishop Francisco Pistilli, with a couple of the Family Federation who live in Hohenau-Encarnación. He is the director the Aldea de niños SOS or Children’s Neighborhood SOS. Father Joaquín gave them the text of a poem and he told them “set it to music.” Those in charge of the liturgy reserved a moment at the end of Mass to sing a tribute to Bishop Francisco Javier Pistilli.
The cherry on top of the cake
The entire ceremony was enriched with many beautiful gestures, blessing of those present, of the walls of the Church, and the Bishop’s homily centered on the blessing of the House of God for God’s family.
At the end, a young lady sang from the choir loft…and upon finishing there was an explosion of joy. As the Spanish say, it was the cherry missing from top of the cake. Another touching moment was when Bishop Pistilli left the presbytery, and he went to embrace Father Joaquín. According to what those who were at his side said, he first kissed the Bishop’s pectoral cross.
The church was filled to capacity and outside tents had been set-up. According to the newspapers, there were approximately 5,000 people.
All the effort to reach this stage of the Church was strengthened by the great desire to offer it as a gift to our Father for the 100 years of Schoenstatt.
