The Holy Family beneath a tent just like any other refugee

IRAK, aleteia.org. These touching pictures arrive from the refugee camps of Iraq:  The Holy Family beneath a tent, just like any other refugee.   Surely, one of the most significant nativity scenes that are erected this year:  there was no place for Him in the inn, just as there is no place for them in the cities of Iraq dominated by extremists.

The Iraqi Christians celebrate Christmas as one of the most important celebrations of their calendar, decorating streets and squares.  This year they cannot do it in their churches and places of worship, but Christ continues to be born in the midst of His people.  In the midst of the suffering and the difficulties, this tent is placed as a sign of hope for the thousands of refugees of the Plains of Nineveh.
