Hundreds of pilgrims participated in the tenth “ConcePro” pilgrimage in honor of the Blessed Mother

ARGENTINA, Anahí Mariño. On the 26th of July, in a beautiful journey of faith, the tenth ConcePro Pilgrimage was held in honor of Our Lady of Schoenstatt in the Uruguay Department, province of Entre Ríos.

After 7:00am, Fathers Mariano Majo and Eduardo Canzonetta prayed the opening prayer at the wayside shrine of la Plaza Urquiza of Concepción del Uruguay, so the approximately 150 pilgrims could begin to travel the 40 km. to Pronunciamiento. The planned trip was made on a sunny day as throughout the trip, more people joined in honoring the Virgin; among them there were seminarians and priests.

A decade of ConcePro pilgrimage

Upon arriving to Pronunciamiento Bishop Jorge E. Lozano, the Bishop of the Diocese of Gualeguaychú, was waiting for the pilgrims in the patio of the chapel, which had been decorated with the balloons and flags from the previous nine pilgrimages. A group of people was waiting for the arrival of the pilgrims.

At that time, the symbol of the Holy Spirit was enthroned and blessed in the wayside shrine; María Adela Rodríguez, a loyal adviser of the organizers along with her husband, Alberto Gerstner, read some words referring to the ten years of pilgrimage and a beautiful mural reflecting that decade of ConcePro was unveiled.

Then a Holy Mass was celebrated and the missionaries from Pronunciamiento and San Cipriano renewed their commitment.

Mural

During that Friday afternoon and the Saturday journey, young boys from Evangelizarte, a group of youths, who evangelize through art, accompanied by people who were encouraged to paint, worked on a mural that is located behind the wayside shrine.

A wayside shrine for San Justo

The El Ovillo de Lana Group will give the Mother Thrice Admirable and Victress of Schoenstatt a wayside shrine for the community of San Justo, which is one of the places that is passed on the way to ConcePro.

The youths want to offer this wayside shrine, since they had also been given one ten years ago by a mission of young boys from La Plata. For this reason, sheets for capital of grace were distributed that they can offer when the place is blessed, which will possibly be in October, during the Schoenstatt Movement’s Jubilee.

Background information about ConcePro

This pilgrimage emerged in 2005, a year after the blessing of the wayside shrine of Pronunciamiento, which is located in the patio of the chapel. The youth group, El Ovillo de Lana, wanted to conquer the picture by giving it a pilgrimage on foot to the closest wayside shrine that at that time was the one in Concepción del Uruguay.

Queen of Evangelization

In the days prior to this pilgrimage, within the framework of the tenth anniversary of the first Pilgrim MTA that remained in the town of Pronunciamiento, the MTA image was crowned as Queen of Evangelization.

This was after praying a novena of preparation and 1,000 Hail Marys.

About the picture

On June 26, 2004, the El Ovillo de Lana Group from Saint Joseph Chapel was sent as missionaries assuming the responsibility of a Pilgrim MTA that visits the families of the area. For that reason, upon reaching the tenth anniversary of that event, that Pilgrim MTA will be crowned as Queen of Evangelization. Currently there are fourteen Pilgrim MTAs traveling in the area.
