The Girls’ Youth defined their contributions to the international Capital of Grace in preparation for the Centennial

BRAZIL, Pauline Almeida. The international encounter of the Girls’ Youth showed results on the third day.  After exchanging ideas in groups, the young girls decided to maintain the aspiration of being a “living crown for the church” until the centennial of Schoenstatt’s founding.  An international objective was chosen to contribute to the capital of grace, manifesting unity throughout the world.

Every day at 20:14, each country will pray an ejaculation that represents it and will end with the expression “Living crown for the Church”.  The stream of life represents the conquest of the RTA (Regina Ter Admirabilis) crown, a replica of the crown that Father Kentenich gave to the Girls’ Youth during the decade of 1940 and that was lost during a worldwide pilgrimage in 1999.  The objective will be to present it to Pope Francis in 2014.

Always at 20:14

Several countries are already offering their contributions to the Capital of Grace at 20:14, and a member of the youth from Londrina, Susana Guariente, thought it would be interesting to maintain this gesture.  “It is a concrete way to experience daily that we are Generation 2014.  It something that is going to unite us more and more as international Girls’ Youth”, she manifested.

Unity, in an encounter called Cor Unum in Patre (one heart with the Father), was a great desire of the young girls.  Katia Acosta, from Paraguay, affirmed that unity of strengths is relevant on the road to the centennial.  “It is extraordinary that we are united in the aspiration, regardless of the language”, she stressed.

Festival

In addition to defining the objective of the contributions to the Capital of Grace for 2014, the participants of Cor Unum had a very joyful night with a festival of typical artistic manifestations from each country.  During the dinner Brazil presented the orchestra of violas from Atibaia, a cultural representation of the country through its music.

The last day of the encounter was marked by discussions about how to show a concrete action for the Church, before departing to Aparecida, the city where the picture of Our Lady of Aparecida, the patroness of Brazil and of Rio de Janeiro, was found.
