Uniting in prayer for the people in Syria – this Saturday in the Original Shrine and beyond

org. Had it not been scheduled two years ago when the list of the Holy Masses “towards 2014” in covenant with the countries where the Covenant of Love is present was set up, it would have been proper to schedule it for this Saturday: the Holy Mass in Covenant with Syria. Right now, in the middle of worldwide concern for the massacres in this country, it is Syria`s turn in the row of countries put in the focus of the pilgrimage towards the 2014 jubilee, a real pilgrimage of solidarity in this case.

Saturday morning 7:15 local hour, the Holy Mass in the Original Shrine will be celebrated in Covenant with Syria – with the people in this country wounded by cruel dictatorship, longing for freedom and democracy, and mourning the hundreds of victims of horrible massacres.

Schoenstatt in Syria? Maybe

There are no verified contacts, there is no Shrine, there is no organized Movement. There are hundreds of MTA pictures somewhere in this country, brought there by people who fell in love with this picture of grace in the English speaking Catholic community of Berlin, Germany. Maybe they long since fled the country, maybe they are dead, maybe they are looking at the eyes of the Mother of the Lord right now and crying to her for help.

The Blessed Mother in Syria? Yes.

The Mother Thrice Admirable of Schoenstatt, she who did not hesitate to walk the streets of Dachau, how could she not be with the suffering people in Syria?

How should she not shower graces from the Original Shrine this Saturday to all those in Syria who need her and her Son?

How could we not be there with her?

The Holy Mass in Covenant with Syria, celebrated by Fr. Heinrich Walter, President of the General Presidency,  will be live transmitted by Schoenstatt-TV.
