Toward 2014 – in Covenant with Sri Lanka

vem. On Saturday, May 12th, a beautiful celebration of the Holy Mass was held on the way toward 2014 in Covenant with Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is an island off southeast India. The Mother Thrice Admirable of Schoenstatt arrived in this country from Mulgoa, Australia and also through the English speaking community in Berlin, Germany. This Holy Mass was celebrated in a close spiritual union with everyone who takes the Covenant to this land and to everyone who will one day seal their Covenant of Love with the MTA.

A small Hispanic community was present

A small Hispanic community that has formed in Schoenstatt was present at the Mass. They are pilgrims, Schoenstatt Fathers’ volunteers and girls from the Chilean Girls’ Youth Group, who have arrived in Schoenstatt to stay for some months to work together in several of the Sisters’ houses. They gather almost daily around the Original Shrine. On this occasion, they wanted to actively participate in the Mass in Covenant with Sri Lanka by contributing songs in Spanish. A family atmosphere is felt more and more each day around the Original Shrine.

A picture of the MTA for Denmark

During the Eucharistic celebration, a picture of the MTA was on the altar of the Shrine.

A family from Peru, which has moved to live in Denmark, contacted schoenstatt.org asking that a blessed picture of the Blessed Mother be sent to them.

What better place than the Holy Mass on the road toward 2014 to unite in solidarity with this family! Father Raul Espina, who presided at the Eucharist, blessed the picture that will be sent in a few days.

Intentions

The Holy Mass was offered in a special way for the Schoenstatt Family from Sri Lanka, for everyone who has a picture of the MTA in their homes or in their parishes, and for those who receive the Pilgrim MTA. Just as every Saturday, we also prayed for the International Family on its pilgrimage toward 2014.

We also prayed for the “Europe Together” conference held in Brussels on this day with representatives from the Movements and several Christian denominations, and for the simultaneous conferences that are developing in several cities throughout the continent.

This week petitions arrived from Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Spain, United States, Paraguay, Mexico, Portugal, Italy, Denmark, Peru, Ecuador and Puerto Rico. They were placed in the jar during the Mass, after praying the Pilgrimage Prayer 2014 as a family.
