ROME, VIS/Amelia Peirone. The Holy Father today received in audience Cardinal Angelo Amato S.D.B., prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints. He also authorised, among others, the promulgation of the decree concerning the heroic virtues of Sister M. Emilie Engel.
During the audience he extended the liturgical cult of St. Hildegard of Bingen (1089-1179) to the universal Church, inscribing her in the catalogue of saints.
The very day of the promulgation of this decree, the so called positio for the cause of beatification of Mario Hiriart was printed. The documents will be given to the Congregation for the Causes of the Saints next Monday.
