Towards 2014

May 2012 – Number 6

I am convinced we can achieve something useful if everyone becomes involved… You know my plans for the future. Together we want to begin this big task and bring it to fruition… For this we ask God to bless us. Amen.
JK – Pre-Founding Document

Editorial

This newsletter comes to you in the month of May on our Pilgrimage toward 2014.

The quote above was inspired by my experience in Brussels this month of “Together for Europe”. A group of Christian communities came together, Schoenstatt a big part of this, to say yes. Yes to life, yes to the environment, yes to God’s creation –7 yeses in total. It was an experience for me of what our founder said in that pre-founding document – yes to the challenges of living our faith in the world of today. It is an impressive journey including Chiara Lubich, of the Focolare Movement, inspiration from John Paul II, great gatherings in various cities over the past decade, and many small and large initiatives that make a difference in the places those Christians live and work.

We want to come together, we want to bring fulfilment the great work that our founder began.

For our Journey towards 2014 the next few days are important – I would ask your prayers. Here in the Covenant House the CentralTeam2014 will be meeting from the 17th  (Today!) – 20th May. All the planning elements will be brought together – a  tour of Schoenstatt to determine the places we will celebrate, the negotiations with the Travel Agents, the results of the negotiations in Rome, and much more…

That “Yes” of the conference in Brussels – echoed like the Yes of Mary to God’s plan – What “Yes” is God asking of us as we prepare as a missionary family for 2014.

God Bless
Fr. Andrew

What’s
  • Booking soon possible – a decisive meeting in Cologne
    • Close to the train station in Cologne some of Team2014 gathered in the offices of IQ Incoming to iron out the details that will make our pilgrimage a real chance to open our hearts as a Schoenstatt family to the mission of our founder and to renew our commitment to offer the treasures of our movement to the Church.

The “I” in IKAF is growing
The “I” in IKAF is growing. Amazement, followed by smiles and with some delay for translation, was the reaction of the participants at the meeting of the International Academy for Leaders in Memhölz.

Being in the south, it is impossible to not participate in some summer mission
Although some months have passed and although the forest wildfires in southern Chile are forgotten by the media, it is still worthwhile to transmit an experience that can be summarized in a few words:  Being in the south, it is impossible to not participate in some summer mission…
