Pilgrimage of the Archdiocesis of Ilhavo to the Schoenstatt Shrine

PORTUGAL, schoenstatt50aveiro. On November 13th, there was a pilgrimage from throughout the entire Archdiocese of Ilhavo to the Schoenstatt Shrine in Colonia Argicola.

Many pilgrims came from the parishes of São Salvador (Ilhavo), Praia da Barra and Costa Nova, Gafanha do Carmo, Gafanha da Encarnação and Gafanha da Nazaré in spite of the bad weather conditions. United as a family, they arrived on foot at the Shrine to celebrate the closing of Seminarians’ Week.

“Brothers and sisters:

During this Seminarians’ Week that we are about to conclude, we pray that the seminarians ‘may become shepherds, who are totally consecrated to God and his people.’ We travel throughout all the parishes of our Archdiocese, united in prayer. We also celebrate the week of prayer for priestly and religious vocations, so that the Owner of the wheat will bless us with many holy priestly vocations.

And since the fourth stage of the pastoral plan of our Diocese is centered on the family, today, as Archdiocese, we are gathered here to also celebrate our “family day” with the certainty that the ‘Diocesan Church, fraternity of families confirms hope.’ We celebrate and offer this Eucharist for all of these reasons.”
