New about the Project “Strong Voices for a Strong Voice”

GERMANY, Marianne Maier. The ultimate Kentenich talking book – blue, green and red – and we don’t by far have enough! 1,2,3 … mine! So the “Strong Voices” talking book series adorns the CD-stands of modern Kentenich listeners. The opportunity to have Kentenich texts read to you is not something we so easily want to let slip. News about the latest 24-hour project at Kentenichhof gives rise to hope of new productions and enthusiastic voices for a strong voice for young married couples.

“The country needs a new edition of the JK talking book series”

This wish for October and a large measure of motivation served to bring recording technology and Kentenich readers together once again. Who would have expected it at such short notice – open doors at the Kentenichhof! Thanks to Rosa Maria and Josef Wieland and Mr & Mrs Herkommer, the doors opened almost automatically. Contact was set up through the item “Father Current” at the October week, and the connection took place more via the internet than personally. Why not? In Volume 4 why should not young couples drawn from the Youth, the fans of the Youth Festival and Misiones enthusiasts have their say with their favourite JK texts? The opportunity was given and the tension increased. If they put together a new talking book, what would the end result be?

The principle is very simple

Each reader gives his or her voice and name because they have personaly chosen the text. We all know only too well how difficult it is to read JK texts, but also how enriching they can be. The possibility to receive a JK text read out to you, especially if you know that the chosen text meas a lot to the reader, is a great incentive to think about and meditate on this text. The CD is a lovely inducement to occupy onself with Fr Kentenich.

Strong voices appeals … to young couples!

Our country needs such couples. If Fr Kentenich’s world is at stake, nothing is too much for us. Having received an info-email shortly before their first common conference on All Saints’ Day at the Kentenichhof, the majority of young couples and families were spontaneously asked not to pass up the possibility “as young couples to read J.K.” The day was fully planned with many children and adults meeting – a family project in the fullest sense … and the question unanswered: To lend your voice to a spiritual giant, and to give him and his words a brilliant opportunity to address a new audience.

A twenty-four hour project

Without having any idea how many of the couples who had expressed an interest in the Family Federation would turn up for the conference, Markus Steffen and Marianne Maier set off on Friday with their microphones and technology under their arms for Schoenstatt. A few hours later we were already part of the lively pre-course meeting at the fully booked Kentenichhof. The traditional Founder Room was abruptly transformed into a recording studio, and not even the noise made by many boisterous children and the workmen could reduce the clarity of the chosen statements read out with emphasis by the couples. Slowly but surely a new masterwork was pieced together. You can look forward to the result: Volume 4 of the Kentenich talking book series presents many and varied texts by Fr Joseph Kentenich.

This is not quite the idea… The idea is that Kentenich readers gather and create a CD with their favorite texts in English! Just try!

  2. Laura Schuckenbrock says:

I can’t wait for someone to translate this book in English!
