Queen of the Promise

ARGENTINA, Luz Bombien. Representatives of different generations shared testimonies during the jubilee of the Argentinean Girls’ Youth. This is the testimony that I presented at this meeting on behalf of my generation ’92. My testimony condenses the history of what we received, and it attempts to be timely. After speaking, I showed the t-shirt with the logo of our Latin American conference of the Girls’ Youth ’92, and on the back, it has a large face of the Blessed Mother with the motto.

Throughout its history, the Argentinean Girls’ Youth discovered its own identity. Our generation received the ideal that the “Loyal Founder,” “Ver sacrum,” and “Heirs of Light” left us as a legacy: DAUGHTER OF THE FATHER, BUILDER OF THE KINGDOM. We also inherited the Branch symbol that the centenary generation left us as a legacy. So, the challenge was, and is, to embody this ideal and this flag. “What they inherited from their elders, conquer it to possess it.”

We celebrated the Golden Anniversary of January 20th and the 40th Anniversary of the blessing of our National Shrine as Generation ’92 within the framework of the 500 years of the evangelization of Latin America. We did this during the Latin American Conference of the Girls’ Youth and then of all the work, when the first Church of Latin America was blessed that was dedicated to God the Father.

There, we had a large crown made up of smaller crowns like “this one”, and as Girls’ Youth, we crowned the Blessed Mother “Queen of the Promise,” so that She would help us fulfill the promise that Father made of giving a little Mary to the world through each one of us.

Today as then, we gather in the shadow of the Shrine to celebrate this gift that God gave us of belonging to Schoenstatt, to assume anew our feminine identity, and to re-ignite ourselves anew in our ideals of youth to evangelize this new world in which we are living.

May this afternoon, every morning, and every night, when we renew the Covenant of Love with the Blessed Mother, we will again say with our life: Father, you inheritance, our mission”…We will fulfill your promise”.
