Lenten Retreat Day in Sleepy Eye

Shrine in Sleepy Eye, USAUSA, Sr. M. Jessica. A Lenten Retreat Day was held at Schoenstatt on the Lake, March 26, 2011, for over 40 persons. Dr James Joyce talked about Human Dignity and Sr Candace Fier presented on Suffering and Likeness to Christ. Holy Mass, adoration, and benediction offered times of prayer to internalize the knowledge.

 

 

 

Blessing in the ShrineDeacon Jacob Niemand, serving at St Mary’s in Sleepy Eye, blessed all in the Schoenstatt Shrine at the closing benediction.

Jeane Appel, one of the participants, was presented with the distinguished service award March 29, 2011, by Bishop LeVoir of the New Ulm diocese. Jeane Appel thanked the Trinity and Our Mother Thrice Admirable in her address.

New website

The Schoenstatt Family of the Shrine at Sleepy Eye also proudly presents their brand new website. Jenny Baker and Kathy Szymanski were teaming up to present a viable, up-to-date website for the Schoenstatt Family in Minnesota, Iowa and the Dakotas. There is a daily Lenten Resolution, a link to the newsletter (called “Shrine Soundings”), some basic Schoenstatt information and a list of links to other Schoenstatt websites in the USA.
