Madness of Love: Sixth Mary’s Crusade

Bandera de la Cruzada de María mkf. The sixth consecutive Mary’s Crusade will take place on September 18th and 19th; it is a walk by the Schoenstatt Youth from Montevideo that unites the city of Libertad with the Nueva Helvecia Shrine, the world’s first daughter Shrine. It is a “madness of love” that began with four “madmen” in 2005 and grew to 120 youth in 2009. The goal is clear: to use “soft violence” on the Blessed Mother so that she will give us the much awaited Montevideo Shrine.

During those two days, they will walk 75 kilometers. Starting very early on September 18th, they will depart by bus from Montevideo to Libertad, where the pilgrimage will begin at 7:00 a.m. with a Holy Mass. On that day, they will walk 52 km to Ecilda Paullier, where there is a wayside shrine of the Blessed Mother. The next day, Sunday, September 19th, they will continue to walk in spite of the raised blisters, the weariness, and aches until they arrive at the long awaited goal: the Schoenstatt Shrine in Nueva Helvecia.

Beyond the Uruguayan borders

The entire Schoenstatt Family is invited to accompany them spiritually. As a response to the request for information for a notice to be placed on the website, they replied: “We would be filled with emotion to see that we are on the international website! This is an activity that we carry out for the entire Family beyond Uruguayan borders. The more people who know about it the better. It would make us proud to know that there are people in different parts of the world accompanying us and participating in this madness through prayer!

If you know of people who are praying for us, please send us their complete names so that we can mention them during the Crusade!”

To participate spiritually, you can communicate with “these madmen of love” through the Crusade of Mary website or by completing the following form.
