BRAZIL, Cássio Leal. The community of the Secular Institute of the Schoenstatt Fathers in Brazil came together from 30 August – 3 September for their retreat. Priests working all around the country took a break from their activities to recharge their batteries at the source of grace – the Shrine.
The Institute of the Schoenstatt Fathers held their annual community retreat from 30 August to 3 September. Priests from the north eastern, south eastern and southern parts of the country came together in São Paulo to share a moment of grace and fruitfulness with their brothers with whom they share their priestly vocation.
Zion Shrine – it is good to be here…
The retreat was held at the Fr. Joseph Kentenich Retreat House located in the shadow of the Zion Shrine in Jaraguá. This Shrine is the ‘home’ of the Schoenstatt Fathers in Brazil. The retreat was led by Fr. José Maria Garcia, the Vice Superior-General of the Schoenstatt Fathers who works in Schoenstatt, Germany, who came especially to Brazil to give the retreat.
New vocations strengthen Youth work
Two seminarians to the Schoenstatt Fathers who came to Brazil for their practical pastoral period also attended the retreat. Ailton is working with the Boys’ Youth in Londrina and Paraná and Júlio will be living in Jaraguá and working with the Brazilian Boys’ Youth (JUMAS) in São Paulo and neighboring towns.
We pray especially for the Fathers and new vocations so that they can always serve the Schoenstatt Family and the Church with love and humility.
