The community of Belmonte bid farewell to “their Bishop”

Despedida de Mons. Rafael Biernaski en BelmonteITALY, Lito and Rosita Musolino. On Saturday, March 6, 2010, the community of Belmonte bid farewell to Bishop Rafael Biernaski at the Matri Ecclesiae Shrine. He was named Auxiliary Bishop to his home diocesis, Curitiba, Brazil. Bishop Biernaski had accompanied the community in Belmonte since the blessing of the Shrine at the Schoenstatt International Center in Rome. The episcopal ordination will take place on April 15th in Curitiba.

PrédicaBishop Rafael, a member of the Schoenstatt Federation of Priests, presided at the second Saturday Mass each month during his time at Belmonte; he gained the affection and the respect of pilgrims who participated in his Masses. His homilies were truly teachings not only about the Gospel, but also about the Movement, making Father Kentenich known, and transmitting his love for the Blessed Mother to everyone who listened to him.

They bid farewell to him with a touch of sadness, but also with the joy of having met such a great priest whom they admired because of the simplicity and humility he transmits with his whole being and through his actions.
