(mkf) By the beginning of advent, the 'Light from Bethlehem' was lit in many shrines and chapels in Schoenstatt. In this Holy Night 1999, the doors in Schoenstatt and all over the world are opened wide for the "Light of the World", Jesus, whose birth 2000 years ago in Bethlehem is celebrated for a whole year. "Your Shrine is our Bethlehem", said Fr. Joseph Kentenich, Founder of the International Schoenstatt Movement, in 1944, addressed to Mary, the Mother of Jesus, in view of the Schoenstatt Shrines. Bethlehem here and now - Schoenstatt, a beautiful place, where People experience God's unconditional love. Through Mary, who also today wants to bring Christ to all. Through people, who out of covenant love in different ways share their experience of Bethlehem today and thus pass on the light of hope: with crib scenes and Christmas decorations, singing and music, invitation to spend "Ten minutes by the crib" and tea, cookies and talks afterwards ...
