POLAND, M. Violetta Wilandt. Every year on the fourth Sunday of Lent the whole Schoenstatt Family in Poland goes to Czestochowa to meet with God and Blessed Mother the Queen of Poland. This year the main theme was on fatherhood. Fr. Kentenich and his thoughts about fatherhood were heard about; how important it is for every man to find and follow the ideal that God put into his heart – to be PUER et PATER (child and father). Nowadays men are scientists, conquerors, inventors, directed to the external world, and forget about feelings, boundaries, and internal values. Their ideal is to be a child in relationship to God and a father in relationship to other people. They prayed for men and boys, for fathers and sons, for the men’s communities in the Schoenstatt Movement, and for their special guest, Lambert M. Schroedter from Brothers of Mary. Preparing for the coronation of Mary and the Centenary of the Covenant of LoveDuring the Holy Mass, they gave to God everything they took with them to Jasna Góra, their everyday life, their successes and problems, their easy and difficult situations... Especially they gave to God the preparation for the coronation of Mary in the Fidentiae Shrine in Bydgoszcz, Sion Shrine in Józefów, and in Mater Unitatis Shrine in Zabrze, and the preparations for Schoenstatt’s Jubilee in 2014. During this meeting, they prayed together, sung together, spent time together; lasted in the Covenant of Love with the Mother and Queen. All went back home very tired, but very happy and convinced that next year they will be there again. The Black Madonna of Częstochowa is a holy icon of the Virgin Mary, that is both Poland's holiest relic, and one of the country's national symbols. Because of the Black Madonna, Częstochowa is regarded as the most popular shrine in Poland, with many Polish Catholics making a pilgrimage there every year. |
