On Father Joseph Kentenich’s canonization process

SCHOENSTATT. Fr. Angel Strada, Postulator for the Cause, informs us that on September 15^th, 40^th anniversary of Father Kentenich’s death, the Diocesan Tribunal for the Cause met in Schoenstatt. After visiting Father’s tomb, the Schulungsheim (House of Formation) where Father spent his last years, and the Father Kentenich House, the decree was signed, verifying that, according to the norms of the Church, there is no liturgical cult attributed to Father Kentenich.

At the meeting, the translator for the Cause, Sergio Acosta, rendered his oath and the postulator presented documentation referring to the reputation for sanctity of Father Kentenich.

During the next months, the technical work will take place: arranging indexes, authentication of decrees, etc.

The closing session of the diocesan phase will take place foreseeably in the first half of next year. Later will follow the second and decisive phase in Rome. Along with giving thanks to God for these advancements, it is most necessary to continuing praying for the grace of a miracle through the intercession of Father Kentenich.
