SCHOENSTATT. On Saturday, June 14, 2008?, at 5:30 p.m. when the holy rosary will again be prayed in the Original Shrine, once again many people will unite spiritually from the Daughter Shrines, wayside shrines, and Homeshrines. United through the Covenant of Love, prayers will be said for the intentions of everyone who sent their petitions to the Original Shrine, as well as for everything that is taking place at the shrines and wayside shrines all over the world

On June 12th, Croatia celebrated as if they had already won the Eurocup, moving to the quarter finals after defeating Germany. There was even more reason to celebrate on June 14th, when the cornerstone of the future Shrine of the country, in Mala Subotica close to Cakovec, Diocese of Varazdin. To prepare spiritually for the blessing of the first daughter Shrine of the country ( on August 22, 2209), the "Croatian Guard" was established that commits to consciously make contributions to the Capital of Grace every day for the fruitfulness of the Shrine, to pray for Croatian vocations for the Schoenstatt Institutes and Federations, and to educate themselves according to the model of the first sodalists. So much life has been awakened from this stream that they had the idea to propose to the entire Schoenstatt Family to do this for the fruitfulness of the Original Shrine and the centennial celebration of the Covenant of Love which has transformed it into a place of special graces for the newest times.

For Croatia, and all the Balkans, June 14th is a big step towards making a dream of many years concrete, the dream of a Shrine.

Tenth Bioethics Journey

On the same day, of June 14th, the tenth bioethics journey will take place in New Schoenstatt, Argentina, with the presence of Monsignor Elio Screggia, President of the Pontifical Academy for Life, Rome. In addition to Monsignor Sgreccia and Sister Dr. Elena Lugo, the Bishop of Quilmas, Monsignor Luis Stockler, the Academic Secretary of the Pontifical Academy for Life, Monsignor Mauricio Calipari, Sister Elisa Monachesi, Provincial Superior of the Institute of Sisters of Mary, and Renate and Norbert Martin, leaders of the Apostolic Family Federation of the Schoenstatt Movement have also committed to attend. A confrence by Doctor Luis Jensen, member of the General Council of the Schoenstatt Institute of Families is also planned, and the presentation of the book "Building the ‘us". Heroes of fire

On Sunday June 15th there will be a pilgrimage from the Diocese of Trier to Schoenstatt. Two days later, in the city of Trier, the diocesan phase of the process of beatification of Joseph Engling will close with an official act in the Gothic Hall of the cathedral. The Schoenstatt Family will gather before at the Church of Saint Anthony for a Holy Mass, and then while the Schoenstatt delegations, of the Palottines and the press go the Gothic Hall, the family will go on pilgrimage to the Schoenstatt Shrine in the neighborhood in the southern part of the city, to pray, sing and to celebrate this "hero of fire" (as it says in the title of the book about the founding of Schoenstatt that was recently published in Spanish). The 40th Anniversary of the death of Father Kentenich, and what he wrote by hand 40 years later for the 50th Anniversary of Joseph’s Englings death: In the story of this young hero you find someone who lived the founding document and he anticipated, through a perfect example, the history of our founding with its three contact points: the Blessed Mother, Father, the Shrine," will be carried out.

The international family will be well represented through by the participants from Hungry, Argentina, Ecuador, and Chile.
