ITALY, Antonella and Natale Asaro. On April 20, 2008, the third regional Encounter of the Schoenstatt Rosary Campaign was held in Carini, province of Palermo. The main theme of the meeting was: Mother and Queen of the Family, My heart for You", this has been the motto for all the encounters held in Italy this year.

As soon as they arrived to the Saint Maximilian Kolbe Center they were welcomed by Father Ludovico and be the leaders from Carini, who distributed 350 little hearts made of red cloth with the motto for the encounter written in gold. One can deduce from the number of little hearts that were distributed that many people attended, even though many could not attend. Each person pinned the little heart on their sweater, close to their own heart, to symbolize their closeness to Jesus and Mary.

They carried a Pilgrim MTA along with the symbols of the Holy Mass

After a short time of sharing as a community, the encounter began. Father Ludovico’s talk was very explicit for everyone who attended. The presence of Mary was perceived among everyone. Father Ludovico was able to make them better understand the importance of placing their confidence in Mary and how She is capable of changing one’s life completely. The Blessed Mother is our Mother, and her children have to be ready to respond to her love, even when errors are committed, conscious that She loves them and always forgives.

He also showed them a large pillow in the shape of a heart that the leaders from Toscaza gave him; there were ribbons with the names of the cities that receive the Pilgrim MTA pinned on it, to which he added a new ribbon with the name of the city of Palermo. This made them feel even more united to the name of Mary.

The conference concluded with testimonies of answered prayers by the Pilgrim MTA among the families that receive her visit.

Afterwards they had lunch together, with friendly conversation, although many of them did not know each other. In the afternoon, the leaders from Carini organized the Eucharistic Adoration, in which many people participated.

Then Father Placido and Father Ludovico celebrated Holy Mass. The group from Carini was in charge of the offertory, they carried a Pilgrim MTA to the altar along with the symbols of the Holy Mass.

The encounter concluded with sharing with each other.

They affectionately bid each other farewell setting the date for the next regional encounter in 2009 in Palermo. Appreciation was expressed to the persons who collaborated in successfully carrying out the journey, and who were so welcoming and attentive to everyone; especially, Mrs. Elisa Gambino, her husband Totó, her children, and the couple, Benedetto and Francesca Davi, the choir from Marineo and everyone who collaborated. But above all they wanted to express gratitude to the Mother Thrice Admirable of Schoenstatt for the graces that they have given to their region.
