SCHOENSTATT, mkf. This coming Saturday, April 26, 2008, at five-thirty p.m., the rosary will be prayed again in the Original Shrine, and once again many people will join spiritually from their Shrines, wayside shrines, and Home Shrines. Connected by the Covenant of Love, prayers will be offered for the intentions of everyone who sent their petitions "to the Original Shrine;" and prayers will also be offered for everything that is taking place around the Original Shrine, the Daughter Shrines, and Wayside Shrines throughout the entire world. In Schoenstatt, a large number of children who some weeks ago had received Holy Communion for the first time will come to Schoenstatt together with their families for a pilgrimage of thanksgiving. At the same time from Friday to Saturday, the administrators of the Schoenstatt Centers in Germany will meet for their annual workshop. In Burundi, the Schoenstatt family and thousands of pilgrims will meet for the May Pilgrimage, the opening of the month of Mary, on April 30th as many will also do at the Original Shrine and in Daughter Shrines of those countries especially in the Northern hemisphere, where the month of May is especially dedicated to Mary. In Concepción, Chile, Maria Ayuda (Mary Helps), the association set up expressly to help abandoned, abused children, and young girls founded by Fr. Heran Alessandri, celebrates its 25th anniversary with a solemn Holy Mass presided by Archbishop Ricardo Ezzati at the Shrine of Montahue. In Florianopolis, Brazil, a "Spiritual Track" is organized for April 27th as a contribution for conquering the land for the future Shrine in the state of Santa Catarina. After participating in Holy Mass in the Marian Shrine at Lake Conceição, the two and a half hour march will lead the pilgrims to Costa da Lagoa (Pond Coast) on the other side of the lake. All are asked to wear tennis shoes (what else?) and - the T-Shirts printed with the MTA image on them! Not this weekend, but one day…In joyful anticipation of what one day might also be possible for Schoenstatt – the Original Shrine, Father Kentenich’s tomb, etc., thanks to Sr. M. NIlza from Brazil you are all invited to watch the live webcam of the Vatican – St. Peter’s Square, tomb of John Paul II – here. Translation: amj, USA |
