SCHOENSTATT, mkf. The General Congress of the Institute of Our Lady of Schoenstatt that is taking place in House Regina, Schoenstatt, has elected a new a new Spiritual Director, Superior General, and a new General Council.
New Spiritual Director is Fr. Alejandro Martínez, Schoenstatt Father from Chile, actually working in Portugal.
New Superior General is Irmgard Claßen, from Aachen, presently Director of a School; she will move to Schoenstatt as soon as it is possible.
The two will represent the community in the General Presidium of the Internation Schoenstatt Work.
Brigitte Wacker, from Schwäbisch Gmünd, social educator, was elected General Course Mother, and will move to Schoenstatt.
Council members are
- Gisela Kraft, now in Schoenstatt, catechist (retired), moving to Ravensburg
- Dr. Gertrud Pollak, Mainz, head of the school and university department of the diocese of Mainz, staying in Mainz; and
- Birgitt Winter, Königsstein, interpreter, moving to Schoenstatt as soon as possible.
On August 2, Father Alejandro Martínez came to Schoenstatt; late afternoon, he celebrated a Holy Mass with the General Congreso. It was also a moment of thanksgiving for the leaving leaders, with Fr. Joseph Fleischlin, Switzerland, as Spiritual Director, Inge Birk as Superior General, and the council members.
