USA, Margaret Steinhage Fenelon. On June 16, 2007 - the feast of The Immaculate Heart of Mary - six Schoenstatt Family Federation couples from the United States made their Final Consecration, incorporating them into The International Apostolic Federation of Families. After eleven years of study and formation, the couples consecrated themselves in the Covenant to one another and to our Blessed Mother with the course name and ideal Victorious Living Nazareth. Victorious Living Nazareth is the fourth course in the United States and the second course in the Milwaukee area.
On the same day, the course dedicated itself to the MTA as a Living Shrine, with each couple choosing a symbol from the Shrine to represent themselves. Together, they form a human shrine, thus uniting themselves to each other and to our Mother and Queen in her shrine in order to truly live the three pilgrimage graces - apostolic zeal, inner transformation, and being at home - in a more active way.
The Final Consecration celebration began with Holy Mass in the House Chapel of the International Schoenstatt Center, followed by a solemn procession to the Shrine for the completion of the Final Consecration and the Living Shrine Dedication. The beauty and meaning of the moment was enriched with a wonderful gift - the Living Shrine Dedication Prayer put to music by the oldest son of one of the couples! Afterward, each couple received a golden pin with the course symbol imprinted on it.
The longing: three new courses for 2014
The festivities continued with a gala banquet of traditional American Thanksgiving Holiday fare and a lively Talent Show including a variety of contributions from the families and even some unexpected guests. Messages of congratulations, welcome, and unity arrived from Schoenstatt Family Federation families from other parts of the world, accentuating the importance of the event and deeply touching the hearts of the Victorious Living Nazareth course brothers and sisters.
Now it is up to seel see what our Father and Founder has in store for Victorious Living Nazareth and for The International Apostolic Federation of Families in the United States. Their striving is to present Father Kentenich with three new courses by 2014. They long to grow in depth and number so that they can become the strong and vibrant community Father envisioned the Federation of Families to be!
