BRASIL, Fr. Mauricio Torres Martin. On July 10th, six priests and young seminarians, coming from different parts of Chile, Brazil, and Argentina, arrived in Jaboticabal, Brazil, in order to join together as a course group. Their goal was to prepare themselves to seal their contract with the Diocesan Institute of Priests.

The groups’ first contract was sealed Saturday, July 22nd, in the Shrine of Atibaia. Halfway through their preparation journey, their Rector General, Monsignor Peter Wolf, joined them, along with two instructors, Father Daniel Lozano (Argentina) and Father Adrian Gonzalez (Chile).

The members of the course are:

  1. Father Sergio Eichenberger (Diocese of Rosario – Argentina)
  2. Sem. Mariano Santesteban* (Diocese of Rosario – Argentina)
  3. Father Marcelo Cervi (Diocese of Jaboticabal – Brazil)
  4. Father Mario da Silveira (Diocese of Riberao Preto – Brazil)
  5. Father Jose Plaza* (Prelature of Calama – Chile)
  6. Father Mauricio Torres Marin (Castrense Episcopate of Chile)

This marks the first time ever that Brazilian priests are a part of a course of the Institute, which certainly is giving great joy to everyone involved.
