PERU, Father Jose Luis Correa. As the year of activities comes to a close, the Schoenstatt Family of Lima, Peru, contemplates with gratitude on the gifts they received this year. Among many other events, the visit of the Apostolic Nuncio in Peru, Monsignor Rino Passignato, to the Schoenstatt Shrine of Lima in La Molina was outstanding.

The visit took place on the morning of Sunday the 17th of April, in which Monsignor Rino Passigato celebrated the Eucharist in the Schoenstatt Shrine of Lima, in La Molina. A great number of the members of the Movement, friends, and neighbors attended this service from the Archdiocese of Lima, as well as pilgrims from the dioceses of Callao and of Turin. At the end of Holy Mass, Edgar and Margarita Espejo, the movement coordinators for the couples in La Molina, presented Monsignor with a gift in appreciation for his visit. Before opening it, the Nuncio, guessing what it was, shared with everyone the special gift that God had given to him in the three places where he has worked as a representative of the Holy Father: first in Burundi, where he knew well the Sisters, the Fathers, the diocesan priests, and the movement around the Shrine of Bjumbura: then in La Paz, Bolivia, where he also encountered the Shrine and the Movement; and finally now in Lima, Peru, where the Shrine was blessed a year and a half ago. While he spoke about all this, he was opening the gift, until he found what he expected: a beautiful picture of the MTA.

The Novena, Courage of Faith for a cousin in Italy

After the Eucharistic celebration, the nuncio stayed for a while and shared with those who attended, allowing himself to photographed, etc.

On the drive back to his residence, he was asked how Father Kentenich’s process of beatification was progressing on the drive back to his residence. It was then that he confided that he had recently finished praying the novena Courage of Faith, asking for the health of his cousin in Italy.

"As you can see, we were surprised by his friendliness and openness, his interest and closeness," concluded Father Jose Luis.
