La Peregrina Auxiliar lucía espléndida en el altar principal. El tema del día fue: María, Señora de la Eucaristía, ¡llévanos a Jesús!

The Auxiliary picture of the Mother Thrice Admirable looked splendid at the main altar. The theme for the day was: Mary, Woman of the Eucharist, Lead Us to Jesus!

USA, Sr. Irraida Guerra. Bishop Paul S. Loverde, Bishop of Arlington, Virginia, invited all movements to participate in a diocesan pilgrimage to the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception to close the Year of the Eucharist on October 15. Schoenstatt was very well represented with members from the Washington, D.C. region (Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia). The Auxiliary of the Schoenstatt Rosary Campaign looked splendid at the main altar. The theme for the day was: Mary, Woman of the Eucharist, Lead Us to Jesus! Bishop Loverde’s homily was about the unique relationship between Jesus and Mary.

The celebration began with exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, then a Eucharistic procession around the shrine while praying a multilingual rosary. The Blessed Mother glorified herself by giving the pilgrims a most beautiful day. Msgr. Walter Rossi, Rector of the Basilica, introduced the day with a talk "Tour of Faith", telling what a pilgrimage is, and explaining the mosaic of the main altar and others Marian chapels.

Many asked for the MTA picture

There were two deacons and around twenty priests. Confession was offered and a Eucharistic reflection and benediction. The highlight of the day was a beautiful and solemn Marian Mass. Before Holy Mass, two choirs and an orchestra delighted all with a musical prelude. The heavenly music continued during the Mass.

The National Shrine was full and the bishop was most pleased to have such a big crowd. He congratulated the priests for making the effort to be present at a Saturday celebration and thanked all of the pilgrims for the order and prayerful atmosphere. The Schoenstatt representatives wore scarves with the Schoenstatt logo and they made a very nice impression on the people. They were sitting in the first two pews and had six Pilgrims MTA’s facing the altar. Participants asked them about the image of the MTA. The Schoenstatt family was very happy to be part of this diocesan pilgrimage. It was a gift for all on this blessed and grace-filled day.
