WYD-COLOGNE, mfk. They have departed under a torrential rain, with colds, frozen, drenched, but decisive about making the graces of the Shrine and of Schoenstatt present in Cologne. The youth from Portugal take their gigantic picture of MTA (it is water proof) in case of the worse or the best of cases it can protect some thousand youth in the Marienfield from the rain. The youth from Brazil are taking the image of the Auxiliary that John Paul II blessed. Hundreds of Pilgrim MTA’s are going to Cologne with the youth from Chile, from Argentina, from Paraguay…The German Schoenstatt youth have already prepared a multiple program over there.

Tuesday, will begin at dawn with a Holy Mass for the helpers in the Schoenstatt Shrine of Cologne. This will be the case on each day. Hundreds of cards and posters invite everyone to visit the center of encounter and the Shrine. On Tuesday the television station ZDF announced…

In the center of encounters that is in the Church of the Holy Trinity the "Oasis" which is already accredited, there is an information booth, open stages and three catequesis in which the Schoenstatt youth collaborated in the preparation. There will also be a daily search of footprints called "Text message from God" at 2:00 p.m. and night prayers will be said every day at 10:30 pm.

A varied program on the open stage

On the 16th of August at 12:00 the Russian and Polish youth will present youth songs and pantomimes on the open stage. In the afternoon the Hungarian, Romanian and Austrian youth will present a theatrical work "Melquisedec", about vocations and decisions. There will also be concerts and dances. The youth from Puerto Rico will present a pantomime on the 17th of August, the Mexicans will offer their dances, the Chileans the musical "The Way of the Wise Men", about the theme of WYD and then they will present folkloric dances of their country. Then there will also be a beautiful theatrical work that was seen in the Youth Festival in Schoenstatt: "Radiance of Fatherhood". On the afternoon of the 18th there will be folkloric from Mexico, Paraguay, the Czech Republic and then much more will follow…

A human chain on Covenant Day

A very special idea for Covenant Day: the youth wanted to form a long chain, holding hands, from the Shrine to the cathedral of Cologne around 8:00 p.m. after the arrival of the Holy Father. A sign: to take the graces from the Shrine to the Church. Not without us!
