WYD, Achim Schadt. The youth of the International Schoenstatt Movement is very committed with the World Youth Day in Cologne that will present a very varied program. Along with the focus on the spiritual center of the "Mary Kupfergasse" ( a Marian pilgrimage place) and the encounter center, "Schoenstatt Live" will run in the Church of the Holy Trinity of Cologne, the organization entrusted the Schoenstatt Movement with the presentation of three Catechesis which will also be presented in that church. Schoenstatt also offers the Shrine in Cologne as a place grace for the World Youth Day..

The World Youth Day in Cologne notified the team of the organization, that the three days of Catechesis will be presided in successive order - by the Auxiliary Bishops of Munich – Freising and Paderborn, Monsignor, Dr. Bernhard Hablberger and Monsignor Heinz Wiesemann (who was the main celebrant of the Marian Pilgrimage to Werl, Germany, in December 2004, that was organized by the Schoenstatt Movement with the Association of Lourdes), and lastly by the Archbishop of Friburg, Monsignor, Dr. Robert Zollitsch, member of the Schoenstatt Institute of Diocesan Priests .

"The Catechesis is a teaching of the essential contents of the way of life and of Christian Doctrine, carried out in a personal contact. The goal is to empower the youth to follow Christ and to celebrate the Christian mysteries for an active and committed participation in the life of the Church" (World Youth Day Office, Matthias Kopp (Editor): "What is Catechesis?")

World Youth Day selects Catechesis as a way to transmit the faith, but it also provides the opportunity for contact between the bishops and the youth from the whole world. The musical groups for this framework were chosen from among international groups and communities.

It was a very beautiful sign for the Schoenstatt youth that they were entrusted to organize three Catechesis, and that Monsignor Zollitsch, who belongs to the Schoenstatt Institute of Diocesan Priests, will be in charge of one of them.

"The profoundest meaning of human existence: to seek the truth"

The subjects of the Catechesis are based on the motto of World Youth Day: "We have come to Adore Him", taken from the gospel according to St. Matthew.

On Wednesday, the 17th of August the first Catechesis will begin with the title: "The profoundest meaning of human existence: to seek the truth" This subject will be presented by the Auxiliary Bishop of Munich – Freising, Monsignor Dr. Bernhard Hablberger (born in Ruhpolding in 1946) approximately 800 youth are expected to attend.

It will not be an easy task for this bishop, who is in charge of the Bavarian Episcopal Conference for the Youth Pastoral and who has a doctorate in theology, given that the search that is mentioned in the title refers to fundamental questions of modern society. For this reason his conference promises to be enriching for the participants.

"Find Christ in the Eucharist"

On Thursday, Monsignor Dr. Karl-Heinz Wiesemann, Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Paderborn will continue the series. At the age of 45, he will surely be one of the youngest, among those honored to present a Catechesis. The requirements for his presentation will also be high and the subject "Find Christ in the Eucharist" will be an interesting task, in view of the reality that the churches are more and more empty, and especially in regards to the youth. There will be ample material to cover.

"Live in the world as true adorers of God"

Last but least, the lCatechesis, on Friday, will be given by Monsignor Dr. Robert Zollitsch, the Archbishop of Freiburg and member of the Schoenstatt Movement, who desired to speak in the church where his "own" youth, the Schoenstatt Youth, is in charge. With the subject, "Live in the world as true adorers of God", he wants to extend a bridge between the Three Kings of the gospel according to St. Matthew, and the youth, who are traveling now to find Jesus and to adore Him.

Each Catechesis promises to be very interesting and enriching for the youth, as well as the previous program that the Schoenstatt Youth of the "Team in Cologne" has prepared along with the bands: "Esperamor", "Symbolum" and "Jugo-Band" of Illerberg.

As Schoenstatt Movement we are glad to have the honor of being the hosts for these Catechesis and we anxiously await to hear what the presenters will say.

www. Schoenstatt.de, will be reporting the Schoenstatt news and activities daily, during World Youth Day, from the 16th to the 20th of August.
