SCHOENSTATT, mfk. A small number of participants, ideal to do a concrete work and in that way have the possibility of having a common experience such as how an intrinsically "small" event awakens life and mobilizes it..and then to have enough time to translate this experience into words: these were the conditions for the press and public relations seminar that took place on the 19th and 20th of March in Schoenstatt.

Four articles about the encounter with the World Youth Day Cross and Icon on the island of Niederwerth on the edge of the Rhine, another about a course for leaders for the Girls' Youth; about a journey for divorced and separated women; encounters in the Original Shrine and a future workshop with the theme "Mary, the fruits are visible or better said they can be read, and about the Seminar. Furthermore, the participants understood the "immediacy of life" is not so difficult to transmit, but it cannot be replaced.

The first group greeted the World Youth Day Cross and Icon

At the beginning it was planned as a "practical observation": to be at the place where the youth, on the island of Niederwerth, would greet the World Youth Day Cross and Icon that would pass by boat toward Cologne. The Cross and the Icon has departed from Espira towards Cologne and they passed close to Schoenstatt. A little before during the seminar the participants learned to recognize different methods of observation, for example, "pejorative", "cold", "in contact". "participating", "warm",and to distinguish these styles of writing and to transmit it. Then they departed for Niederwerth and when the boat was barely seen with the Cross and the Icon, the participants of the seminar, who had at first taken a certain distance to observe, ended by being the middle of the people and the commotion.

Later they learned that some four hundred Schoenstatters were the first group who had greeted the passing of the boat with World Youth Day Cross and Icon. "We did a lot of press work, much publicity, but in Maguncia no one got up so early, and it so cold...But it was our great joy to see our group there", a director of the youth pastoral from Espira, said later via a telephone call.

"I went because of the seminar and also to represent Schoenstatt", said a woman, "We had to be there, this could not be missed. When the boat with Cross arrived, and paused in front of us, really there was no one around us. Jesus was traveling through the Rhine. The only thing I could think was: we have come to adore him". Truly this was the best condition for writing that life enkindles life: this was the experience of this seminar.

We do not see so many precious experiences day after day

With more or less big expectations, the participants went on an afternoon "outing", to look for material for an article based on observation and interviews. "We do not see, we miss so many precious experiences day after day," they affirmed when they assimilated the manifestations and the testimonies of the "common pilgrims" and the participants of journeys...It is not just about awakening capabilities, of tracking vital processes and translating them into worlds, but also to appreciate and to understand why the articles on schoenstatt. de are not really very long...It is not only about transmitting activities, but to make them come to life, because as Father Kentenich said, life enkindles life (not only with words and deeds)...
