BAZIL. Selma Cammarota. On noon on October 18th, at the São Paulo Cathedral, Brazil, the "Covenant of Love Mass" was celebrated with the families that receive the Pilgrim MTA in the regions of Sé and Lapa. The Mass was celebrated by Bishop D. Manuel P. Carral, commentated by Father Antônio Bracht, superior of the priests of Schoenstatt, and con-celebrated by nineteen priests and included the attendance of the sisters from the Shrine of Vila Mariana.

Sister Palmira ( Superior), Sister Valdete (Coordinator of the Schoenstatt Rosary Campaign), Sister Theomaris, Sister Diná, Sister Rosa Maria and Sister Marlenis (Vice-Provincial) came, and it was a large number of sisters to be present at the celebration!

Closing the Year of the Rosary in the Cathedral

The idea of having a great celebration in the Cathedral, a place of great relevance for the Catholics who live in the City of São Paulo, came from the suggestion of closing, on the Alliance Day, the Year of the Rosary, opened by the Pope in October 2002. The work also developed through the book "Family - Service to Life", with the purposes of showing the relevance of the father in the formation of the family. It was a great satisfaction to the see the countless pictures of the Pilgrim Mother. Approximately 2,500 people crowded into the Cathedral, making true the wishes of the Founder and Father of ‘crowding the churches through the Apostolic Movement of Schoenstatt’.

During the welcome, in the processions of entrance and offering, and in the preparation of the mass, which was prepared with a great deal of care and love, all sectors of coordination were involved. For the entrance of the Gospel was chosen a family of four children, one of whom was carrying a baby only 4-days old. For the entrance of the chalice, the two youngest caretakers of the region. The Image of the Weddings was involved in a bride’s veil, the Image of the Sequestration was brought by a couple who had a daughter kidnapped and the Image of Juveniles and Children was brought by a very young caretaker.

It is all a matter of Capital of Graces

Everything happened due to the many contributions to the capital of grace that the 620 missionaries of the regions of Sé and Lapa offered during the preceding weeks, with their prayers and efforts of preparation that culminated with a triduum in the Shrine of Vila Mariana, where all the missionaries attended a prayer vigil, with two daily masses, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, rosary and singing.

Care of the Poor

One cannot forget at such a great celebration for our movement, the social assistance for those in need. We asked each guest to donate 1 kg (about 2.2 lbs) of food for the social work of the Cathedral. Approximately 2,000 kg were donated.

The happiness of the party of "Cana of Galilee" was repeated in our Cathedral, since we felt blessed and protected by the mantle of Mother Thrice Admirable, Queen and Victress of Schoenstatt.
