ARGENTINA, Diego Asili. "All for Schoenstatt, Schoenstatt for the Church, and the Church for the Holy Trinity," this is a bond that is sometimes complicated to accomplish. However, that is not the case in the community of Miramar, a city of about 30,000 inhabitants located about 60 km. south of the nearest Shrine, Mar del Plata, which has fully accomplished the desire of the Founding Father.

About twenty-six years ago, a group of couples began to meet who were struggling with the restlessness of forming themselves with values, which they would then offer to their families. A priest, the pastor of the city at that time, proposed placing them in contact with a couple from Mar del Plata, who he remembered as belonging to Schoenstatt Movement. The first group of the Family Work in the city emerged from that suggestion.

Presently and as a result of the mission that is carried out by some missionaries of the Rosary Campaign in Mar del Plata, some women from Miramar committed to continue with the Campaign in their city.

All for Schoenstatt

A few years later, three of the couples from this first group began the Family Federation. A Mothers’ Group began to grow along with the Jubilee Project, named because of its emergence during the Jubilee year of 2000, and which was a convocation for participating in the pedagogical timetable of training groups for the Family Work. The Family Branch grew greatly to the extent that there are many couples, which are presently involved, and each year more couples join. About eight years ago, the Girls’ Group began and since last year there i also a Boys’ Group.

Schoenstatt for the Church and the Church for the Holy Trinity

This bond is more than strengthened in the city. It is not difficult to find Schoenstatt couples, young boys and girls involved with catechesis for the family, catechesis for First Communion and Confirmation. They work ardently for the Church and for the city along with the people from the community and the Diocesan Movement to contribute all the graces acquired from Schoenstatt. This work is not the only thing that the Movement carries out. An important group of the city’s Mothers’ Branch has taken charge of Caritas Miramar as of this year. This is something very important, because it is the bridge, which reaches the Church directly in the poorest areas of society. Meanwhile, as the Branches continue to grow, we are sure that the the participation of the involved Schoenstatters will increase to carry the Church’s message, which our Founding Father loved so much.

How was this bond accomplished? It was obtained mainly through the strong conviction and above all by adaptation without imposing, but by offering what the Movement has. The ecclesial community should not feel invaded, rather it should feel supported. Present day society is more and more removed from God, because it does not listen to what He has to say to them. Inner freedom allows us to choose. There are reasons to accept God, but others offering consumerism and often the media distances us from Him. Many people choose the latter, because they only have a childhood faith, which if it is not thought about, if it is not increased, if it is not taught, it will remain at that level and it will be lost. The Blessed Mother urges us to take this message that we have within ourselves to take it out, to expose it, and to shout it out to that society. Moreover the Church is the agent through which we must act…never forget Father’s words, "From the Shrine, the destiny of the Church will be co-decided"…This is something more than just an opinion.
