BRASIL, Hna. M. Denise Mendes Ternes. On June 3, 2009, at 10:00 a.., the boxes which contained the authentic copy of the Cause of the Beatification and Canonization of the Servant of God John Louis Pozzobon were opened. An envelope, which contained the letters from Bishop Dom Helio A. Rubert and the letters from the Diocesan Tribunal from Santa Maria, RS, Brazil, was presented along with the boxes of the process.

Dr. Silvia Correale, Postulator of the Cause in Rome, Father Argemiro Ferracioli (PBIP), Vice-postulator of the cause in Rome, Father Luiz Quain (SAC), Father Gerardo Carcará (PBIP), the Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary: Sister Julia Flesch, Sister Ivone Zamovelo, and Sister Margaret Goncalves attended the ceremony.

Father Argemiro relates the official presentation of the process:

"The Chancellor of the Congregation for the Cause of the Saints, Monsignor Giacomo Papplardo invited those who were present to pray an Our Father and a Hail Mary and he gave a blessing. The work to verify all the procedural documents began immediately. To our joy, he always repeated: "Toto Bene" (all is good). He eulogized the presentation, the organization and the beautiful manner of presenting the documents. He even commented that it was a shame to have to destroy the (seals and ribbons) that were so beautifully presented.

When he finished, Monsignor Giacomo Pappalardo presented Father Argemiro Ferracioli with an empty box, the waxen seals, the ribbons, and the outer pages of the process, which will be kept at the Memorial of the Cause in Santa Maria.

He also presented all the doucmentation for the purpose of beginning the Cause of John Pozzobon in the Congregation for the Saints to the President of the Congregation for the Cause of the Saints, Cardinal Angelo Amato." (Father Argemiro Ferracioli)

It is with great joy and much expectation, that we await the advance of the process of canonization in Rome. Our prayers and contributions to the Capital of Grace will be our contribution so that the great missionary of the Schoenstatt Pilgrim MTA will be recognized as a saint by the Catholic Church.

As Father Argemiro writes, this stage of the process is the "second phase", when the Church investigates the life of holiness of the Servant of God John Louis Pozzobon. We hope that if everything goes according to what his devotees believe; he will be declared Venerable, Blessed and then Saint of the Church" (Father Argemiro Ferracioli).
