PARAGUAY, Ramón Marini. The 31st of May, the Feast of Pentecost, the 60 th Anniversary of everything that 31st of May 1949 signifies with the presentation of the fruits of the Covenant of Love to the Church, is also at the same time the 50th Anniversary of Schoenstatt in Paraguay. The Schoenstatt Family has contemplated about its first 50 years of life with enthusiasm and gratitude. They have had the joy of meeting some founders. Now with great effort, they must continue with Father Kentenich’s mission and be the founders in the coming years.

The Blessed Mother was crowned again. The days before the crowning there was persistent rain, cold, and cloudy skies, but on Sunday morning, it cleared up little by little. The sun came out, and it was a splendid day, about 3,000 thousand people were in Tuparenda to celebrate the great day.

The Leaders’ Conference for the Family was held two days before, and it ended with Holy Mass on Sunday. The celebrant was Father Antonio Cosp, and there were many reasons to celebrate: the 60th Anniversary of the 31st of May, the 50 years of Schoenstatt in Paraguay, and the 24th year of the arrival of the Pilgrim MTA to Paraguay.

About fifty children carried their small Pilgrim MTAs, and at the end of Mass, they released balloons with the colors of the national flag. During the offertory, the results of the Leaders’ Conference were presented. After Mass, some of the elder members brought a large cake to the altar and they sang Happy Birthday to the the Blessed Mother. It was an important moment of re-connecting with so many people who once gave their time, effort, and heart to build this Family.
