USA, Christi Jentz. The annual May Crowning took place at the International Center in Waukesha on Covenant Sunday, May 17th. This is an annual event that the local Schoenstatt movement has treasured for many years. Prior to Holy Mass a very large wire crown is loaded with May blossoms. The blossoms come from the gardens of the families and Schoenstatt Sisters. This year thecrown was particularly beautiful because many types of spring flowers were in full in bloom. Some years the buds are still too small to pick. A rosary procession to the Shrine follows Holy Mass. Individuals, often youth, are asked to lead the rosary, carry the flags and carry the floral crown. First communicants are specially recognized. Lunch, social time, a short afternoon talk, and benediction close the day. When’s God Gonna Show UpThis year Marge Fenelon was signing her newly released book, "When’s God Gonna Show Up, Daily Discoveries of the Divine", published by Liguori Publishing. The forward was written by Most Reverend Timothy Dolan, the recently appointed Archbishop of New York and former Archbishop of the Milwaukee Archdiocese. Readers of this website already know several of Marge Fenelon’s articles. Anyone would like to read about the practical (and funny) ways that Schoenstatt spirituality can be lived in the hustle and bustle of daily family life, please pick up a copy of this book. It is truly an enjoyable story. |
