ARGENTINA, Sandra and Rubén López/mkf. Toward the end of last February, the Schoenstatt Family from Rosario received one of its most difficult blows: the death notice of Carmen Rinaudo who with her husband, Ernesto, in December of 2008, had assumed the diocesan leadership of the Schoenstatt Family in Rosario. Her unexpected return to the House of the Father, deeply moved everyone and especially those in the Family Work. Throughout many years, Carmencita and Ernesto had given many proofs of dedication, love and fidelity to the Family Work.

Surely everyone has many fond memories of Carmen. She was everyone’s friend, and last February 21st, at the age of 59, Carmen left her very dear Family from Rosario. "She was consumed by zeal for Schoenstatt," commented Joaquín Lavini. "In spite of being moved with her diagnosis (which she was aware of), she worried more about what would happen in Schoenstatt. She was tranquil and serene. She trusted that the Father would do what was best for her and her own. She was only restless about one thing: Not being able to fulfill the task they had recently assumed as diocesan leaders for the Family in Rosario."

"Personally engraved in our hearts is her ‘tender smile’ and the enormous love and care she always lavished on us," commented Sandra and Rubén López. "The plans of God are a mystery. For all of us, it will be very difficult to fill the void produced by the physical absence of Carmen, but we do not doubt that she is very near to our Mother and our Father and Founder, interceding for all of our needs and looking after each and everyone of the Schoenstatt children."

"Shrine of the Common Union"

Carmen was born in Salto, Province of Buenos Aires, on January 19, 1950. At the beginning of 1968, while she was pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Education, she encounters Schoenstatt and falls in love with the Blessed Mother and the pedagogy of Father Kentenich who was in Germany at that time. On August 15, 1970, she sealed her Covenant of Love with the Blessed Mother as a member of the Girls’ Youth. On March 27, 1976, she married Ernesto Bartolomé Rinaudo and together they formed a beautiful family with four children (Mariángel, agustín, Andrés, and Esteban). On August 18, 1978, they sealed their Covenant of Love as a married couple. On December 19, 1986, they sealed the Covenant of Love as Members of the Family Work (League). On January 20, 2002, they sealed, as a married couple, their childlike Covenant of Love with Father Kentenich. Together they surrendered themselves with enormous dedication to the apostolic tasks which the Movement needed at each step…..as branch leaders…..forming groups…..working with leaders and group leaders…..and representing Schoenstatt at the Archdiocesan Secretariat for the Family….. Her leaving to the House of the Father surprised her just at the time when she and Ernesto were named Diocesan Leaders of the Schoenstatt Family in Rosario.

Her conciliatory and maternal charism brought to life the ideal of her Home Shrine: "Shrine of the Common Union." It had its professional specialty, "Former of Formers," for the members of the Schoenstatt Family in Rosario, urging and accompanying those who assumed community commitments.

"Let us be completely sure that Carmen, from her place with the Blessed Mother and Father Kentenich, will intercede for all our needs…..," says her husband, Ernesto.

"There are very dear persons who have gone to the House of the Father and we feel them so close that it seems as if they are still with us. This is how it is with Carmencita," say Marta and Joaquín Lavini. "A teacher companion of Carmen said of her: "She was a saint. She always had Blessed Mother on her lips, and with her motivating and joyful words, she would raise our spirits even in the most difficult moments. She witnessed being an excellent mother and wife….. If I had to define her, I would say she was the "yes" woman…..faithful…..confident and very pious…..and above all, a loving wife….."
