ARGENTINA, Mary and Osvaldo Banille. On the afternoon of Sunday, February 22nd, Carlos Cornacchia from the Family Federation in Argentina returned home to the House of the Father. Carlos Cornacchia and Cecilia were Leaders of the Trinity Region and were now serving a second term as members of the Territorial Council. They were preparing to represent Argentina in the General Chapter of the Federation.
Carlos, his wife, Cecilia, and two of their daughters, suffered an automobile accident as they were returning from vacationing in the southern part of the country. Carlos died almost instantly and the three women suffered severe blows, but in general are all right physically.
On Tuesday the 24th at 2:30 P.M. Argentina time, a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated before the burial. The idea came forth that all should accompany the family and the Federation Family with their candles lit while united in prayer in each Home Shrine. At almost the same time, in Schoenstatt, Germany, Mass was celebrated for him in the Shrine of the Families. The lighted candle which the Federation asked for, was also lit in the Original Shrine where Mass was also celebrated for him on Thursday morning.
They visited each course and each family…..
Carlos and Cecilia have always been a living testimony of love for the Blessed Mother and the Father and Founder. Both, very simple, truly walked through life "spreading love and peace and joy." As Counselors for the free Communities, each year they organized the Cañamazo (conference of Course Leaders) and by car made long trips and visited each course and each family no matter how far they lived in a distant and isolated place.
Now that Carlos Cornacchia has departed, for sure he is with Carlos Nesa from the Family Federation in Argentina who died a few months ago and with all Schoenstatters who have departed, with our Father and Founder and with our dear Blessed Mother.
His wife, his four daughters, his entire family and all his brothers and sisters in Federation cannot find words nor explanation for this loss…..but once again we renew our faith, our dedication, trusting in the desire and wish of God and imploring that He give us all the comfort and strength to bear the pain of this loss.
