PUERTO RICO, Fred Pérez. The pioneer course of the Apostolic Schoenstatt Family Federation in Borinquen (indigenous name for Puerto Rico) prays thus: "Thanks be to God that we have come this far, and today we can say that we have begun a new span of the passage. We are united in heart and holding hands….."

The slogan for the conference was "Paulus et Timoteus." This was a phrase written by Father Joseph Kentenich on the back of one of his photos with Deacon Jesús María Pagán. The Course "Light of the Father’s Kingdom" prepares to be the Father and Founder’s Timothy. Nine families sealed their final consecration in the spirit of the Inscriptio. It was felt on Saturday, November 15th, at 4 PM, that "The hour of our love has come and the one thought was "to be a treasure for our Father" as a gift on his birthday.

A triduum in preparation

For the solemn final consecration, the Course prepared with a triduum to cross the threshold and forever belong to this community of the great Schoenstatt Work.

On Thursday, November 13th, they sealed their Covenant of Love with Father at his memorial. With this action, they wanted to assume the responsibility to guard the legacy and mission. They prayed thus: "Father, as a family, from the Home Shrine, we take your treasures to the Church."

On Friday, November 14th, gathered at the resting place of Deacon Jesús María Pagán and in the shadow of the Shrine of Solidarity in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, and in the fullness of the original Covenant of Love, they sealed the Covenant of Love with one another. For this Coveant of Love, they prayed in Father’s words: "…..I have the right to carry you in my heart…..and in your heart, set up my tent….." Witnessing this act were Sr. María Nilda Pagán and Father Dieter Haas who accompanied them during these years of formation.

The triduum ended on a cool morning of Saturday the 15th where all were "united in one heart, holding hands" around the Shrine to commit themselves forever, in loyalty, to the Shrine.

Thus they arrived to the moment of the final consecration, submerged deeply into Father’s heart, with their brothers and sisters in the Covenant of Love and at the Shrine, their cradle of sanctity for the world.

Gratitude

They are grateful to the entire Schoenstatt Family in Puerto Rico…..Institutes, Federations, League and Pilgrims…..for their support with their contributions to the Treasury of Grace. Thank you to those who accompanied them in their formation: Sr. M. Simonette, Sr. M. Nilda and Father Dieter and especially the International Family Federation who embraced them and helped them to their joyous final consecration. Thank you especially to Renate and Norbert Martin.
