COSTA RICA, Michelle Ramirez. The couples of the Family Branch of Costa Rica experienced a different kind of Friday on November 28th– a Friday– organic style. Composer Tony Gazel along with his wife Christy belongs to Group 8’s couples, The Guardians of Mary. Tony accompanied by his wife, Christy, and their three daughters gave them an example of marital holiness… of family holiness. About fifty couples attended the "Musical Talk" at the Mary Immaculate Chapel in San Jose…and delighted by the good music, guitars, and meditations, the couples were perfectly prepared for their next meeting with Father Rafael Fernández, who will visit them in a few days and leading them in at a spiritual retreat for couples. Thanks to Father Mario Segura, the pastor and a friend of the Movement who allowed them to use the little chapel, they were able to gather many couples, since there wasn’t enough room in the Movement House. "The Grotto" as this little chapel is known is also used for the bi-monthly meetings of the Dawn Breakers. Little by little the necessity for reaching the spiritual conquest is being felt: building the long awaited and greatly desired Shrine along with the other surrounding buildings that are so badly needed. "This is the reason why we are working at forming ourselves more and more in the land of Central America!" Around the Advent WreathOn Sunday, November 30th, the Little Crowns, the Squires or Shield Bearers, the Cross Bearers, the pre- Allies, and the couples met at the Movement House, where they gathered around the Advent Wreath of natural cypress to pray and to celebrate the beginning of the spiritual preparation for the coming of the Child Jesus… It was a pleasant afternoon and at the end they shared cookies and eggnog (a classic Costa Rican custom) as a family. Haydee and Ricardo, a couple from Paraguay who came from the Tuparenda Shrine also joined them. They shared the beautiful experiences regarding the building and conquest of the Shrine of Tuparenda with the Schoenstatt Family from Costa Rica…it was truly an exchange of hearts, knowledge, and experiences!
