ARGENTINA, Diana Zunini. The Schoenstatt Family from Carhué carried out the traditional pilgrimage to Vatteone on Sunday, November 16th, accompanied by brothers and sisters from Pigue and Bahia Blanca, which all belong to the province of Buenos Aires.

The pilgrims gathered at the Wayside Shrine of Carhué to renew the consecration to the Blessed Mother. Once more they visited the new monolith in front of the wayside shrine inscribed with the names of the missionaries of Mary who have departed to the House of the Father, a true symbol of the motto: "Let us guard you inheritance," along with two Black Crosses and the Ver Sacrum symbol, a memorial to the two first generations who gave their life for the Blessed Mother.

After that they departed on pilgrimage to the Children’s Home, Alzaga Unzué of the Sacred Heart in Vatteone, a distance of 14 km., where the little girls and Sisters Isabel and Azucena from the congregation of the Divine Face happily awaited them. They participated with the missionaries in a workshop about Mary and the graces of the Shrine.

Root out war from your own hearts

There was a rich exchange of experiences related to the topic, "How do we transmit the graces of the Shrine, our treasure, to the most needy, and in what manner can we transmit the peace that Mary radiates to our brothers?" A missionary said, "The most important thing is our own life’s testimony, by being humble, uniting ourselves to the Blessed Mother, listening carefully to the needs of our brother," and he stressed the work that the Sisters carried out at this place, "taking care of these children by themselves, and the wonderful things that are accomplished when one has an open heart."

They recalled the words of our Father, "We have to solve the great world problems within the small framework of our daily lives," by rooting out war from our own hearts, being builders of peace, respecting the time of others, and having the desire to take the Shrine from our hearts to each heart.

Close to the first wayside shrine of the diocese

Afterwards they had lunch at the Home along with the girls, followed by pilgrimage on the grounds praying the rosary with songs, and waiting for more pilgrims who would arrive by bus from Carhué. The pilgrimage ended near to the Wayside Shrine that is already fifty-eight years old; blessed by Father Franz Maibach, it was the first Wayside Shrine in the diocese. They especially prayed for the sick, for rain, for the missionaries of the Campaign from Burundi, Africa, so that they can conquer their own National Auxiliary MTA, and there were also many expressions of gratitude to the Blessed Mother.

The day of pilgrimage concluded with the Holy Mass celebrated by Father Daniel Jany and with the Covenant of Love sealed by two young men from Carhué.
