Learning about the Covenant of Love from the Pilgrims

Fruits of the exchange of hearts with the Blessed Mother

PARAGUAY, Rafael y Estela Frutos. In Schoenstatt each member has a place, a charisma, a mission. Divine Providence brings us together and unites all the brothers and sisters to form a chain and a holy community. We began to work with the pilgrims in casual and spontaneous manner on an October 18th. The task was to welcome the buses loaded with children, youth, adults, and old people, who arrived at Tuparenda to visit the Blessed Mother and to fill their hearts with the blessings that Jesus gives us along with his Mother. On that day we were the ones that left with a full hearts, since in every bus there were two, three, four or more people who blessed us and expressed gratitude because we had welcomed them.

Years later when they invited us to participate in the Pastoral of Tuparenda, we did not know what were getting into or what they would ask of us. But little by little we understood that this invitation to be part of the Covenant and Homeshrine Team for pilgrims was a blessing for us.

Now we understand that it how the Blessed Mother and the Holy Spirit gave us the gift of making our Covenant of Love more profound and fruitful, so that we could understand how to make our exchange of hearts, goods and interests a living and practical thing.

21 Covenants of Love

Without realizing it this apostolote, which we assumed, made us appreciate and admire the way in which the pilgrims live their faith, in a simple manner and many times with much more giving of self and depth than those of us who have been in Schoenstatt for a longer time and who with a strong and passionate adolescent , but sometimes idealistic love, thought we owned the Shrine, the Blessed Mother and the Movement.

On the return trip from Asunción after a Covenant journey for pilgrims, we had the joy of sharing the trip with Father Cruz Viale, who manifested his intention to also draw the pilgrims to the Youth Shrine of Asunción.

We took on this mission and as a gift to the MTA for the Tenth Anniversary of the Youth Shrine 21 pilgrims sealed their Covenant.

Joyfully they enthroned the Blessed Mother in their homes

This year we wanted to give the Blessed Mother some allies for her month, the month of May, and in September for the Tenth Anniversary of the Youth Shrine; by introducing the blessing of the Homeshrine.

Six persons, who consecrated themselves in July, are preparing to seal their Covenant during the month of May. In September the Blessed Mother wanted to dwell in the homes of the first ones who sealed their Covenant last year and in the homes of some who consecrated themselves in July.

Six families blessed their pictures, their crucifixes their Holy Families and they joyfully entrhoned the Blessed Mother in their homes.

We are grateful to God the Father for the beautiful gift that He gives us with each group that wants to seal their Covenanat of Love.

On October 18th we will be in Tuparenda to work , but more than anything to continue to learn what the Covenant of Love is from the pilgrims.
