BRAZIL, Alessandra de Paula Lourençon. On 28 September 2008, Mary was crowned Queen of Families by the Schoenstatt Movement in Louveira, during a mass at Our Lady Mother of Men and St. Anthony Parish.

The Marian Apostles, the Schoenstatt Girls’ Youth and Pilgrim Mother Campaign missionaries came together to crown our Mother, thanking her for being present in their homes and granting them many graces and blessings.

Mass began with a procession that included the Auxiliary Pilgrim Mother and the Pilgrim Mother images that visit the families. During the offertory, the families offered their contributions to the Capital of Grace in preparation for the Crowning of the MTA. Given that September was the month of the Word of God, a member of the Girls’ Youth brought up a Bible surrounded by the Apostles, the Girls’ Youth and the Schoenstatt Movement banners, representing the guardians of the Sacred Book.

Crowned amidst a shower of rose petals

When the moment for the Crowning arrived, the Apostles brought the altar to life, by exhibiting their joyful playfulness while the Girls’ Youth enacted the song, "Multi-coloured Sion." The message of the song was that "Mary is the Sion of joy, only the Mother of God leads us to her Son, Jesus." Afterwards, they all offered gifts to Mary and amidst a shower of rose petals and silver paper, She was crowned. Two Pilgrim Mothers belonging to the little children and the Girls’ Youth were also crowned, the latter being crowned by Daiane who was dedicated herself wholeheartedly to the preparation of these young people.

One of the important townspeople, Rubens Pagotto, the coordinator for the Pilgrim Mother Campaign was also honoured. He had been directly involved with the Shrine for over three years, uniting, encouraging and supporting Marian evangelisation as part of the mission to form the new man for the new civilisation. Without a doubt, he now continues his mission alongside the Mother of God.

Confident that our Mother received a crown conquered with many sacrifices, we will joyfully and confidently allow ourselves to be guided towards the true source of love that overflows into our lives and the lives of our families. In each difficulty we want to ask that the Mother of God, as the great Educator, show us how we can change and give our all for the mission. If each person strives for this, she will rewards our efforts with the grace we need and so we ask: "Dear Queen, rule over our lives."
