CHILE, Sister Ivonne Latsague/mkf. With less than one week until the great event that has united the entire Schoenstatt Family in Chile, it is already clear: The commemoration of the 40th Anniversary of the Father Kentenich's death has become a great celebration for the Family around the Father.

Much life has been awakened in each local Family as they prepare for this event with incredible initiatives. For example, the creation of places of encounter with Father Kentenich, the naming a prominent street of the city for Father Joseph Kentenich, poetry and painting contests in the schools; theater workshops, radio programs; the creation of sub-secretariats of the Secretariat Father Joseph Kentenich…For each of the preparatory activities not only the members of the branches have been convoked; rather the pilgrims and missionaries of the Pilgrim MTA, Friends of Father Joseph Kentenich, volunteers from several social areas throughout Chile, and friends of Schoenstatt are cooperating….

On September 15th, 17 bishops will celebrate a Mass in commemoration of Father Kentenich

The significance of celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Father Kentenich’s death has enthused the Family and motivated the Movement to give this celebration great ecclesial meaning by inviting the bishops to celebrate the Eucharist on this day in the respective diocesan cathedrals, and they have had the very favorable response of 17 bishops who have committed to attend.

They want to give testimony of the Dilexit Ecclesiam that Father Kentenich left us as a legacy, with these words that he chose as an epitaph for his tomb. With him and like him they want to love and serve the Church and to make the Eucharist of this September 15th a great petition: that he be beatified soon.

No one is exempt from celebrating this September 15th somewhere in Chile

Everyone to the cathedral, everyone to the Shrine, everyone to the parish church, everone to the next wayside shrine! In the homeshrine, in the workplace shrine, in the heart shrine

this anniversary will be celebrated – that is how everyone was convoked during the last week before September 15th. No one is exempt from celebrating at some place in Chile on this September 15th. Alone or accompanied. As a family, with the neighbors, with the companions at school or at work, with the friends of Father Kentenich, the sisters and brothers of the Covenant, the pilgrims of the Shrine and the Wayside Shrine, those who are visited by the Pilgrim MTA, those who collaborate with Schoenstatt; those we know by name and those we do not see.

"Each one has something to offer during this Eucharist of Thanksgiving for the gift of our Founder", reads the invitation that was sent some days ago. "We are grateful for you priestly paternity; for your great love of Mary; for your unconditional love for the Holy Church. For giving us the experience of the love of God in our lives, and through your innumerable responses to our daily needs. On your anniversary also make of us a gift.

Let us unite our hearts and our voices in one great petition:

Eternal Father: Please grant Father Joseph Kentenich the grace of his prompt canonization and in this way he can collaborate even more fruitfully in the work of your Son, Jesus, for your glory. Amen."
