SCHOENSTATT, M. Violetta Wilandt. The Polish pilgrims, some forty people from Bydgoszcs, Grudziadz, Koszalin, Darlowo, and Otwock, came to Schoenstatt for five days, and spent an inspiring time here before setting out to their home towns again on September 26th. They wanted to know more about the Father and Founder, Fr. Kentenich, about his life, his mission, and his fatherhood. During the five days of their stay, they visited many places in Schoenstatt, many Shrines and communities. They could easily notice here, at this place, that Schoenstatt is international and full of life. They prayed together for Father Kentenich’s beatification at almost each place they visited – in the Original Shrine, in the Adoration Church, at this tomb, in the Sion Shrine, and everywhere they went during their stay. They asked the Mother and Queen for more courage, hope, and apostolic power for the Schoenstatt Movement in Poland. Moreover, so they could to do all to spread Schoenstatt spirituality more in their country, among the people they know, among their neighbors, and colleagues at work. Covenant of Love in the Original ShrineOn September 24th, a couple sealed their Blank Check Surrender in the Original Shrine. All were very happy to accompany them and pray together in this special moment and special place. They also had several interesting meetings with people who knew Father Kentenich and experienced him during his lifetime as a real, loving Father. They met Alice Jenderko, member of the Institute Our Lady of Schoenstatt, and Fr. Ángel Strada. One of the highlights of the pilgrimage was the private hour at Father Kentenich’s tomb on Wednesday evening, the very day when the Roman stage for the process of beatification for Joseph Engling was opened, and the anniversary of several important events in Father Kentenich’s life. One thing is sure for each and every one of the pilgrims: They want to come again… |
