SCHOENSTATT, mkf. On Saturday, August 9, 2008 at 5:30 p.m. On Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 5:30 p.m., when the rosary will be prayed again in the Original Shrine, many people will unite spiritual to this prayer from their Shrines, wayside shrines and Homeshrines. United in the Covenant of Love, we will pray for the intentions of everyone who sent their petitions to the Original Shrine, and we will also pray for all the activities that will take place around the Original Shrine and other Shrines around the world.

Just as last time, this rosary will be attended by youth from Rome –who belong to the first groups of Boys’ and Girls Youth in Italy-, along with Gonzalo Crespo, from Argentina, who just finished a mission in Rome and is now on vacation in Schoenstatt (and working in the Press Office like the two Italians, Fabrizio and Cristiana Usai). They will sing songs in Italian and Spanish.

This Friday, the Annual Leaders’ Conference of the Girls’Youth from Germany will begin; one of the topics will be: missions.

On August 9th and 10th, a pilgrimage of about 300 people from the Diocese of Augsburg will arrive at Schoenstatt. The Saturday and Sunday Masses will include a folkloric choir from Augsburg, as well as musicians who play alpine trumpets!

Congratulations to Mons Robert Zollitsch

Mons. Robert Zollitsch, Archbishop from Freiburg, who has also served as President of the German Episcopal Conference since mid year, will be 70 years old on August 9th; this event will be celebrated in the cathedral of Freiburg with a festive Mass.

The Schoenstatt Family can congratulate him "live" on September 14th when he arrives to Schoenstatt for the 40th Anniversary of Father Joseph Kentenich’s death – this will be his first visit since his election as President of the German Episcopal Conference. Monsignor Robert Zollitsch is a member of the Schoenstatt Institute of Diocesan Priests.

In preparation for the feast of August 15th

This Friday, August 8, 2008, within the novena dedicated to the Blessed Mother of Asunción, Patron of this city, the Schoenstatt Movement will be in charge of preparing the Mass. The liturgy at 9:00 PM will be presided by His Excellency Monsignor Pastor Cuquejo, the theme is: "The missionary disciples encouraged by the Holy Spirit are builders of the kingdom of God".

On August 15th, the Feast of the Assumption of Mary to heaven, Monsignor Ackermann, Auxiliary Bishop of Trier, Germany, will visit Schoenstatt for the first time and he will be the main celebrant of the Pilgrims’ Mass.

October 18th is only two months away! Around the Original Shrine the day will be celebrated as a day of pilgrimage with Mass, Illuminated Rosary, spiritual concerts, and especially the pilgrimage to the Original Shrine, where a facsimile of the Founding Documents will be displayed all day. At the founding hour, the Founding Document will be read and the Covenant of Love will be renewed, united to everyone who will celebrate the founding day...six years before the centennial! The first pilgrims have already registered: they are members of the Schoenstatt Youth from Italy.
