SCHOENSTATT ,mkf. On Saturday, July 5, 2008, at 5:30 p.m…when the rosary will be prayed once more in the Original Shrine, many people will again unite spiritually to this prayer from their Shrines, Wayside Shrines and Homeshrines. United in the Covenant of Love, prayers will be offered for everyone who sent their petitions to the Original Shrine, as well as for all the activities that will take place around the Original Shrine and the other Shrines all over the world. On Friday, July 4th and Sunday, July 6th respectively, the Schoenstatt Youth groups from Germany will depart from the Original Shrine for World Youth Day in Sydney, Australia, which will be celebrated from July 15th to 20th. This will be a great event for the Church and also for Schoenstatt during this month of July. Youth from the Schoenstatt Movement from several places are preparing to go together on pilgrimage to Australia, where, on July 2nd, they will meet at the Schoenstatt Shrine in Mulgoa after World Youth Day. Youth, we go with you! On Saturday, July 5th, there will be another celebration in Schoenstatt: The traditional Sion Celebration of the Schoenstatt Fathers, with Holy Mass in the morning, with the participation of the seminarians, lunch, and in the afternoon there will be an open house. On the same weekend, there will be a pilgrimage from the Diocese of Regensburg to Schoenstatt. There will be something very special on Friday night at the Pilgrims’ Church where Justus Franz will perform with the Philharmonic of the Nations. This special concert will offer some of the works of Ludwig van Beethoven. Large diocesan pilgrimage to the Shrine of AtibaiaThe Rosary Campaign of the Schoenstatt Movement of the Diocese of Campinas, Brazil, will sponsor the seventh archdiocesan pilgrimage to the Schoenstatt Shrine of Atibaia on July 6th. The pilgrimage will be a special pilgrimage this year, since the centennial of the archdiocese will be celebrated with the crowning of the Immaculate, Patroness of the diocese, concluding with a tridium of preparation for the centennial that began in 2006. Bishop D. Bruno Gamberini will preside at the solemn Mass during the afternoon. Many families will participate; there will be more than 110 buses and hundreds of cars. The pilgrimage is also a petition for the future Schoenstatt Shrine in Campinas. Reception of the tunic in Tuparenda"The novices," twenty-seven young men from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Spain, the United States, Mexico, Paraguay and Uruguay, who are in the Novitiate of Tuparenda, will receive the Tunic of Sion, the symbol of purity, poverty, and of obedience at the call of the Lord, during a Mass which will be celebrated on Saturday, July 12th in Tuparenda, at 3:00 p.m. The entire Schoenstatt Family is invited to accompany this transcendental event for the Movement and for the Church. The relatives and friends of the novices as well as the community of the Schoenstatt Fathers will attend this event. Family CongressIn Peru, the 1st International Family Congress will be held with the theme: Marital love the way of holiness for couples. For program and details. Some of the speakers include Lorenzo and Carla Cintolesi, Family Federation from Chile. We will wait for news about this Congress! Rosary Workshop for childrenOn Friday, July 5th there will be a very nice workshop in Buenos Aires: In playing I will get close to Mary, this workshop about the rosary is for children between the ages of 3-12. Since the Holy Father as well as the Blessed Mother through all her apparitions have asked that the Holy Rosary be prayed; I thought that it would be beautiful to give Mary a time for children’s joy in the monthly meeting, and little by little, our children will learn to pray and to meditate on the mysteries of the Holy Rosary through different activities. So we are organizing the Workshop: In playing I come close to Mary, writes Graciela Alais de Garcia Baldizzone in the invitation. This meeting will be held every first Friday of the month. "All the ideas that the children propose will be welcomed, the workshop is for them, and I want them to enjoy it to the maximum." The children will learn one mystery of the rosary according to their age; they will make a decade rosary with beads, knots, or flowers. To conclude the workshop, they will go together to the Shrine (Confidentia) to pray the rosary. "In the Shrine we will pray the Luminous Mysteries in which Jesus speaks to us, and we will also pray for the intentions of the children. We will pray an Our Father, a Hail Mary, and a Glory Be in each Mystery, and we will pray the same for the intentions of the Holy Father, Benedict XVI, at the end of the Holy Rosary. We will sing a song and depart." All of this will take place within one hour…and surely the children will truly enjoy it. The schoenstatt.de team will take a summer "pause" beginning this weekend for vacation etc., so the articles will be reduced until July 29th when we will return to the normal rhythm. Take this pause as an opportunity to read those articles you have not had time to read! Urgent information will be transmitted through the newsletter.
