BRAZIL, Sister M. Ivanir. During the month of May, hundreds of pilgrims came to the Shrine from many different states and places around Rio Grande do Sul. There were also pilgrims from Londrina (Paraná), Gravatai (Rio Grande do Sul), Tubarao (Santa Catarina), and Cocai do Sul (Santa Catarina). In addition to these pilgrims, Tabor Shrine welcomed a pilgrimage from Paraguay. As the Father and Founder said on October 18, 1914 in the Original Shrine: "All those who come here to pray shall experience the glory of Mary and confess: "It is good for us to be here!" Schoenstatt, The Founding Documents, 7 p. 30 An atmosphere of prayer could be felt around the Shrine, a place of grace where everyone experiences the presence of Mary as Mother, Educator, and Intercessor before Jesus for all her children. For the workers of BrazilDuring the course of the celebrations for the 60th Anniversary of the Shrine on April 11th, several groups arrived at the Shrine to pray and to express gratitude for the graces they have received. Among them was the pilgrimage from May 1st, which departs each year from the parish under the patronage of Saint Joseph; they walk to the Shrine carrying the Mother Thrice Admirable of Schoenstatt and Saint Joseph. On this day they prayed especially for the unemployed who are seeking work and for all workers in Brazil. The Blessed Mother received many flowers, literally as well as spiritually. The majority of the pilgrims traveled along the historic roads traveled by Father Kentenich and John Pozzobon. When we welcome the groups and take care of the pilgrims, we try to follow the acclamation that the Holy Father, Benedict XVI made at the Aparecida Conference: "Remain in Mary’s school."
