VENEZUELA, Alcides Delgado and Maria del Mar de Delgado. On Friday, April 18th, in the city of Valencia, state of Carabobo, Venezuela in the Shrine of Our Lady of Sorrows – Don Bosco House (Redoma de Guaparo) the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed beginning at 4:30 p.m. and Mass will be celebrated at 6:00 p.m., because "on the 18th of every month, the Blessed Mother invites us to recall ‘Covenant Day’ you can do this by attending Mass, praying a Rosary as a family, or by praying three Hail Marys." so the information in the tri-fold pamphlet published by the Schoenstatt Rosary Campaign of this city states.

Alcides Delgado and Maria del Mar de Delgado, members of the Schoenstatt Apostolic Movement, are missionaries of the Schoenstatt Rosary Campaign, which they learned about and joined through Teresa and Konstantin Blumers, of the Schoenstatt Institute of Families, who due to work-related reasons came to Venezuela for some years. They were instruments that the Blessed Mother used to give life to the flame of love in the hearts of many missionaries helping them work for their neighbor through evangelization and for unity of the Church.

Alcides and Maria del Mar are Eucharistic Ministers in Our Lady of Sorrows Shrine in the Don Bosco House in Valencia –where they received the Schoenstatt Pilgrim MTA. They truly began their Covenant of Love with the Blessed Mother at that moment. That is what their work in the Schoenstatt Rosary Campaign demonstrates; they found great openness and receptivity from the Rector of the Shrine, Father José Robles (Padre Pepe), who has always supported them in the work they are carrying out.

On April 18th just as every 18th, they recall the Covenant of Love with the Blessed Mother, with Exposition and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, and then there is a Rosary and Holy Eucharist.

To take the Blessed Mother to the people…

Since the first Pilgrim MTA arrived in Valencia, there have been several commissions of Pilgrim MTA’s. The Campaign has improved the work of the missionaries in such a way that it is reaching all social sectors more efficiently. Now they are in the process of taking the Pilgrim MTA to the schools– where it can be in each classroom for three days, to clinics, and to health centers. This is so that it can be of consolation, spiritual strength, and of formation for the people, and so they may feel that Our Lord is everywhere and that as head of the Church, he extends his hand to them.

"We are working based on the three graces that the Blessed Mother offers us in the Schoenstatt Shrine," they explained:

"1. Spiritual sheltering – grouping prospective missionaries

2. Interior transformation –catechesis, talks to make the Movement known, to explain the Rosary Campaign, and the commitment of love that they are gaining to avoid that people will drop out in the future

3. Apostolic zeal– this is where the pilgrimage of evangelization really begins and that is when the Pilgrim MTA is commissioned so that it may go out and orient many places."

To make it easier to spread the Movement and the Campaign, they have made a tri-fold pamphlet with basic information that can be distributed to the different parishes and in this way make it easier for the people to understand.

In the magazine of the of Our Lady of Sorrows Shrine –Don Bosco House – there is a page assigned to promote the Schoenstatt Rosary Campaign and its outreach in society. It explains the commissioning and the prayer meetings of the One Million Children praying the Rosary, which they have collaborated with during the past years.

Visit to the Bishop

Two months ago on February 18, 2008, a Covenant Day, the Archbishop of Valencia, Monsignor Reinaldo Del Prette, who they formally introduced to the Schoenstatt Movement and the Rosary Campaign, received them. He was very receptive, and he encouraged them to continue with their mission.
