SCHOENSTATT, Sr. Maria Julia Aguero. "Here is where the sun rises!" said one of the forty Brazilians who arrived April 17th to visit the Mother Thrice Admirable in the Original Shrine and Father Kentenich on Mount Schoenstatt.

The MTA received them with a radiant sun, and this was a great joy for them. Nevertheless, what really moved them was the "Son" who gave them the Original Shrine. They came in procession and singing the song of the Pilgrim Mother. Entering the Shrine was a very profound experience for them, which they demonstrated by the silence full of respect and emotion. Then they sacramentally presented to the Blessed Mother and Jesus all their intentions, joys, and petitions. One pilgrim exclaimed as she was leaving, "Here is where the Sun rises!"

From Schoenstatt to Father’s house

They went up Mount Schoenstatt in a bus. There they visited the Father Kentenich house and took many pictures with the statue that is out in front of the house. Soon they visited the church of the Holy Trinity and Father Kentenich’s tomb. There they experienced one of the most central moments of their visit. They prayed and sang to Father.

Then it was lunchtime. There was plenty of happiness and other emotions as they went down to the Pilgrim House, where to their joy they discovered something precious: "From Schoenstatt to the home." There were little ceramic copies of the Shrine containing earth from the Original Shrine. Now every moment they can touch the holy ground of Schoenstatt and the Original Shrine, where some time ago the Blessed Mother went out to make a pilgrimage to be with them.

In the evening, Father Silvio who accompanied them celebrated Holy Mass. The pilgrims took advantage of each moment of free time for visiting again the Blessed Mother in the Shrine. When the moment came to say farewell, it was difficult for them to leave. "I want to remain here!" They repeated, but in the plan they had other destinations on their pilgrimage: a visit to Asisi and the tomb of Padre Pio. The MTA will go with them too.
